Nowadays, many people are not
satisfied with their appearance, so they
will do many ways to change their appearance. The most popular way is getting
plastic surgery. By getting plastic surgery, people will get an instant beauty
because
plastic surgery can reconstruct part of the
body to be in accordance with the desired shape. However, in my opinion, we do not need to do plastic surgery to change our
appearance for several reasons.
First, plastic
surgery has side effect for our health. One of the
effects of plastic surgery for our health is blood clotting. It happens
because the body must rest, after surgery the body does not move during the recovery process. Another effect
of plastic surgery is nerve damage in the area of the body that has plastic
surgery. Sometimes, a number of plastic surgeries have already failed. Many
people died because of operations that were far from needed. For example the
36-years old housewife Lorraine Batt, mother of three young children, died because
of the surgery that would make her belly more
pretty to be looked at.
Second, the
operating costs are usually
very expensive. Plastic surgery ranges from one-thousand dollars to three-thousand
dollars or more depending on the surgery. For example for the liposuction
procedure, one patient has to pay about two-thousand dollars. A plastic surgery
also does not last a long time. For example,
if we do plastic surgery to remove wrinkles, it will make us younger for a few
years. Whereas life goes on and the wrinkles will reappear, so we need to get plastic surgery again. It makes us spend lots of money for getting plastic surgery repeatedly.
The last reason is
plastic
surgery also contrary to our religion. God has provided the perfect form for human beings. If we do
plastic surgery, we will change what God has created for us. People who get plastic surgery indicate that they are not grateful for the grace of God that has been
given to us.
In brief, plastic
surgery does not always give benefit for us. We cannot choose plastic surgery as
one way to change our appearance because it has side effects for our health,
our financial, and contrary to our religion. Indeed, we had better be grateful
for the grace that God has given to us.
